(Butler Co. , Oh) Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones said law enforcement is seeing more overdoses because dealers are mixing heroin and Fentanyl to increase the potency. The Butler County coroner's office reports more than half of the 21 heroin overdoses this year have been from a combination of the two drugs. The CDC reports Fentanyl is estimated to be 80 times as potent as morphine, commonly used as pain medication before and after surgery. Sheriff Jones said dealers are getting their supply from Mexico.
Ohio Attorney General Mike Dewine will be in Cincinnati Wednesday to host a community forum on drug abuse in Ohio. The public is welcome to attend.
