45-year-old Danielle Carroll teaches a painting class in Battery Park in New York City. On Sunday, she was cleaning up after class, and accidentally threw out her diamond wedding ring with some old rags.
--And she didn't realize it until she woke up at 3:30 A.M. Monday. She went to the dumpster where she put the garbage, but it had already been emptied. She saw a garbage truck parked nearby, and did the only thing that she could think of.
--She left a NOTE on the truck's windshield saying, quote, "I believe my wedding ring is in this truck." She asked the driver to call and tell her where the garbage was going to be dumped, so she could search for the ring.
--The driver was named Gary Gaddist, and when he got to work, he read Danielle's note. Instead of calling her to come search for her ring, he went through the garbage HIMSELF.
--It took him about an hour, but he was able to find the garbage bag with paint rags in it . . . and when he ripped it open, he found Danielle's ring.
