According to a new survey by the British website Cupid.com, people prefer to text each other when they first start dating . . . rather than talk on the phone.

--Obviously, assuming things work out, people want to talk more and text less as the relationship goes on.

--The most common texting mistake people make when they're first dating is to bombard their date with too many texts too fast.

--The next biggest mistake is not replying to your date fast enough when you receive a text.

--Two in five women said that it's acceptable to end a relationship by text message . . . although nowhere near as many men agreed.
