Queen rocker Brian May is adamant late legend Freddie Mercury would give singer

Adam Lambert the "seal of approval" as the flamboyant star prepares to front the band at an upcoming U.K. festival.

The former American Idol contestant will perform in Mercury's place when Queen headlines the Sonisphere festival in Knebworth, England over the summer.

On Monday, Lambert tweeted:

As many suspected, I can finally confirm: I have been invited by Queen to sing one very special concert! Sonisphere at Knebworth July 7th!

And guitarist May insists the band's iconic star, who passed away in 1991, would be happy with their latest addition.

He says, "Judging by my incoming mail, this decision will make a lot of people very happy. It's a worthy challenge for us, and I'm sure Adam would meet with Freddie's approval! And what better place to revisit, and walk those emotional paths than Knebworth? It will be a rush."

And Lambert admits he can't wait to get on stage with his heroes, adding: "I'm completely in awe of the Queen phenomenon. The thought of sharing the stage for a full set is so beautifully surreal. I'm honored to be able to pay my respects to Freddie's memory. He's a personal hero of mine and I am deeply grateful for the chance to sing such powerful music for fans of this legendary band. I know the evening will be a huge milestone for me, and with the support of Brian, Roger (Taylor, drummer) and the rest of the band I know magic will be on display."

Lambert previously performed with the surviving members of Queen at the MTV European Music Awards in November.

Drew Barrymore was holding what appeared to be a sonogram when she left a Beverly Hills doctors’ office with her fiancé, Will Kopelman, a 34-year-old art consultant. Drew’s rep said they had no comment.

Ryan Gosling was amazing as Jacob Palmer in Crazy, Stupid, Love.  He played this ridiculously sexy ladies’ man.  However, in real life he says he is not nearly as smooth as the character. Even though I am sure Eva Mendes and Rachel McAdams may disagree, he explains:

"I don't want to disappoint you, but it's not really like the film. I just tried to follow all the rules that men's magazines give you, like all the ways you're supposed to dress, all the exercises you're supposed to do, and all the things you're supposed to say. Just follow the letter of the law. I read that book, The Game. I like to call it The Lame. Or that TV show, The Pick Up Artist. I watched that. I don't know whether seduction can be taught or not. But these gentlemen seem to think that they have something to say, and they have devotees. What I like about the film is the philosophy. Even though Jacob's essentially a knucklehead, at the heart of it, he's saying: 'Don't use pick-up lines, don't make lame bar banter. Just talk to them as you would talk to one of your friends. Just talk to them.' So, I thought if there's any wisdom in there, that probably sounds like good advice."
