He's 101, she's 97 and they've been married for 80 years!!! What a beautiful couple!
They've been named the 2013 "Longest Married Couple" in American and they have an awesome story!
Originally, Jonh and Ann Betar weren't supposed to be married. Her parents had already arranged for her to marry another man but she fled town and eloped with John, her true love. After they married they opened a super market for a while and then had five kids. They've outlived two of their kids already who passed away in their 60's.
John and Ann say family is the reason they've made it through life this far.
"That's what makes life what it is," Ann said. "We were fortunate enough to live long enough to see this ... and it's really one of the most gratifying things in the world to see your great-grandchildren, to see your grandchildren become adults."
John added, "That's what keeps us alive. We live for them."
