We received the following amazing email from listener Krissy
My name is Kristin Green, my brother SPC Douglas J. Green was killed in action on August 28th 2011 in Afghanistan. We were both born and raised in Sterling, VA. Losing my brother has been extremely difficult so we wanted to keep my brothers name alive and started a non-profit called the Douglas J. Green Memorial Foundation (www.djgmf.org) where we ship care packages to the troops overseas. We recently just received a letter in the mail from a soldier who wants to remain "nameless" and his unit took over my brothers in Afghanistan. He found my brothers dog tags in the desert and spent 2 years trying to locate my brother and my family. When opening the letter we were shocked to find my brothers dog tags, 2 years later!! This soldier has given us something magical that we never thought would ever happen.
As she said in the email, the foudnation donates care packages to the troops. If you'd like to donate, you can go to www.djgmf.org
